As a fellow work-from-homer I can relate to a lot of it. Phone and email are definitely my two biggest time-sucks -- my advanced gotvmail voicemail was worth every penny for the reasons you describe, and my wife convinced me to hold off buying an iPhone so I wouldn\'t walk around everywhere checking my email compulsively. Probably a good idea. And, yeah, it always irks me when I get sick -- my regularly employed friends can take paid sick days, whereas I only get paid for days I\'m actually working.
