Womens Health

Here’s a Public Service Announcement for my readers who live in Connecticut:
Ever Been Depressed? Feeling Better Now?
Learn About Depression & Heart Disease in Women
If you are a nonsmoking post-menopausal woman who does not have heart disease, then you may be eligible to participate in the Women’s Hearts Study, a research study being conducted by Julie Wagner, PhD at the UConn Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut.
If you are eligible and choose to participate you will be asked to:
Visit the Health Center twice at your convenience
Complete an interview and some questionnaires
Give blood samples
Have a sound-wave test of the blood vessel in your arm
Participants will be paid $75 and provided a meal at the Health Center Cafeteria. Other benefits may include free screenings of your cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and measures of inflammation.
Please call: 860.679.7692 OR 800.535.6232
If you live outside of Connecticut, check with your doctor, local hospitals or public health service clinics to see if similar programs may be available.
