I asked how much the Tooth Fairy gives nowadays. And there were so many responses that came up...and the answer seems to be everything from 25cents to one dollar to five dollars to no money but things like Pokemon cards!

My 12 year old has ADD. I've been beginning to wonder about ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) as well, although it could just be that he is fast approaching the age of 13.

I tried using the acronym (ODD), and found mostly answers about the "odds" of getting/having any number of diseases, etc. I found better answers when spelling out the condition.

The particular thread that I read contained a question from a mom about her adopted daughter who had been diagnosed with ADD, ODD and GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). The answers she received ran the gamut, as I would expect. There is so much misunderstanding about and prejudice against people with mental diseases ... sometimes it is a very frustrating situation with which to deal.

Several of the answers were like "I've never heard of that", or "I don't know a lot about it", but offered encouragement. It is wonderful to know you're not alone in a situation like that.

I found one reply disheartening...that "ODD" did not exist and was just a label applied by psychiatrists to (children) who had a lot of maladaptive behaviors. Not so much that I did not want to hear an opinion that differed from mine, but that the opinion (subjective) was offered as fact (objective).

It was my first visit to the site...definitely worth return visits and registration.
