Recently I had the opportunity review a new product called Pinhole Glasses.
According to the website, these unusual-looking glasses purport to be for suffers of
myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness), presbyopia,
astigmatism, computer vision syndrome or cataracts.
The modern and affordable alternative to prescription eyeglasses, pinhole glasses consist of precision-manufactured lightweight perforated plastic lenses, inset into standard metal or plastic spectacle frames. They are ideal for sufferers of refractive eye disorders, the elderly and computer users as the pinholes – accurately formed by laser technology – allow only direct and
coherent light rays to pass through into the eye.
The glasses I received are identical to the picture shown. The frames are clear plastic, and fit comfortably on my face.
The lens portion is black, with tiny pinhole openings.
As a Baby Boomer, while I do wear prescription trifocal prescription glasses, my prescription is for an astigmatism, and I use my glasses for distance, regular viewing & reading.
My opinion? I didn’t see any particular significant improvement in my vision, which may be attributed to possibly having a condition not listed above, and which condition may have developed since my last eye examination.
I would recommend that you first check with your Health Care Physician to determine if you have a condition that may warrant monitoring by a professional.
