The busy holiday season is right around the corner and will be here before you know it! Are you organized or a procrastinator? I like to get a head start on making sure everything’s in order and crossed off my holiday list of things to.

I often burn candles in order to create a relaxed atmosphere after a stressful day. Burning candles bring out a feeling of peace and harmony.

Recently I adopted a baby stray Calico kitten who now fights for shares space with my 13-year old house cat.  I work until the wee hours of the morning, and am so tired that I often forget to extinguish the candle I would have burning. Now the Hubster doesn’t have to worry about me forgetting, or the kittys knocking it over because Scentsy warmer offers a safe way to enjoy fragrance, using a small 25watt light bulb to melt the wax slowly, while maximizing the fragrance time of the Scentsy Bar or Brick.  Replacement bulbs may be ordered through the Scentsy consultant.

To use the warmer, I broke the cube off of the packet and placed it in the warming dish.  There’s enough heat from the bulb to melt the wax.  The Gingersnap fragrance filled the whole downstairs of my house, and smells just like the real thing!

When the kids and grandkids come to visit, I have them fooled – they think I’ve been baking!  So sorry to disappoint …

It’s easy to change the fragrances, as you can either pour the melted wax back into it’s original packaging to reform, or you can let the wax solidify and then store in a cool place for later use.

Some of the new scents I can’t wait to try for fall are Baked Apple Pie, Cranberry Spice and  Autumn Sunset.  Magnificent!

During the Holiday Season, one of the best ways to express your love for your beloved ones is by giving gifts. Different gifts signify different things to different people. Over the 35 years I’ve been married I’ve managed to take and collect quite a few photographs. These days it seems we all keep our photos either online or on our computers.

However, there’s nothing like having actual hard copies of your photos to share with your friends & family!  My girls still enjoy spending time looking at photos from when they were younger.

An Empowering Toilet Training Tale

My grandson, Slugger, is my second grandchild. He’s 17 months old and tries to keep up with his older sister, ‘Lil Moomette who is 3.

As with any second child, Slugger inherited quite a few of his sister’s toys and books, which he enjoys – most of the time.

When I had an opportunity to review Ferdinand uses the Potty, I was delighted.  I think this is just the right book for him to get introduced to potty training.

Most of my readers know I have two grown daughters, and of course, ‘Lil Moomette.  Helping to potty train Slugger will send me into unexplored territory – I don’t have the faintest idea how to potty train a boy.

Fortunately, a short interview with the author, Jay Tucker, explains why this book is a must-have for parents (and grandparents alike!):

Our journey with our son inspired me to write a potty training book called, “Ferdinand Uses the Potty.” The story is about a young frog named Ferdinand who wakes up one morning in a wet bed. He has no idea what caused it, but fortunately, he has a supportive friend who has been there before to offer him encouragement and advice. “Ferdinand Uses the Potty,” is written in rhyme so that children and adults will enjoy one of life’s earliest lessons.
