Blog Ad Network and Directory

The goal for Moms Ad Exchange for blogs and businesses is to :

… create the most comprehensive directory of blogs by moms. Our directory has several different categories to help moms find the most relevant type of blog they are looking for and we have state/country categories also to help find other mom bloggers near you.

They’ve come up with a nifty Traffic Exchange Ad Network , and will rotate your banner on various member sites! You can add either your blogs, or your e-commerce mompreneur websites! They’ve set up a 3:4 ratio, which means that for every 4 impressions you show, you earn 3 impressions in the system with your button showing on other sites who are members.

You can join either as an advertiser or a publisher, and must provide your own 125 x 125 banner.

There are other alternative forms of banner advertising sites out there!

I don’t think the dust has settled yet on the whole paid advertising thing.  I’ve been reading many posts on some of my favorite blogs, ironically, which I had discovered through Entrecard.

Members have been dropping out left and right, basically because we now had to monitor and babysit our dashboards virtually 24 hours a day.

Initially I accepted a few paid ads, but primarily from my favorite droppers.  I’ve noticed that my favorite bloggers were dropping less frequently, and that the rates to advertise on my blogs had gone down.

At first, I put up a banner saying I was “Dropper Friendly” and would only accept advertising from those who paid by credits earned via dropping ECs.

The tweets I had read in Twitter using the hashtag #Entrecard leading to many blog posts are what finally persuaded me to leave.

Always a fair-minded person, I wanted to make sure that those who do advertise on my blog are getting 100% visibility, 100% of the time.

As an alternative, I now offer reasonable advertising for those who would like to display their banners on my blog, along with advertising options available from Project Wonderful, CMF ads, Adgitize Me, 123 Traffic Exchange and Moms Ad Exchange and CinnamonHollow.

I’ve been introduced to many wonderful blogs I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise, and have bookmarked many for further reading.

I hope that those readers who still use Entrecard will Bookmark my blogs, subscribe in a RSS reader and/or subscribe via Newsletter.

Ok. I haven’t done any musings in awhile because I’ve been too dang busy maintaining my eBay Power Seller status and putting all my ducks in order building my new website & consolidating my eBay store and affiliate shops under one roof ~ Moomette’s Magnificents Olde Towne Shoppes.

I know, after seeing all those terrific WAHM sites on various traffic exchanges that all you sweet young things have built, it’s probably a piece of cake for you. You probably took all that HTML stuff in elementary school, high school & beyond.

Well, gram here has been learning it all on her own. At 2, 3 & 4 am in the morning when DH is sleeping, and the house is finally peaceful. You see, I’m still working at my FT cubicle job. Then, of course, there’s ‘lil Moomette whom I pick up after I get out of work until DD or charming SIL come to get her.

Well, I’m taking a break right now at 2 am from all that Photobucket & listing stuff, finding a new web host for my site, and working on the new blog template (don’t you love it? Thanks Shera, from
Sweet N Simple Design…more on Shera to come. I met Shera through Mom Pack ~ she’s such a delight!

Anyway. Where was I? Oh ya. You young gals. Well, let me tell you. After having 2 DDs, and doing the middle school, high school & college thing with them ~ Moms will find out they always have to be ahead of the curve. Want to stay in touch? The cell phone that you pay for gets put on mute. Then what? Learn to text message. They’ll think it’s their friends.

Still ignoring you? Learn to instant message. When something pops up ~ they’ll think it’s their friends and guess what ~ it’s Mom~ Here’s my AIM avatar:

My girls had to look at that on AIM while they were in college everytime they “talked” to me ~ which was only when they usually ran out of funds. And my screen name…let’s just say it started with the word “Money”! Hmpf.I digress…DD #2, took Spanish all through high school. So knowing I’d be online, she once put up her “Away Message” in Spanish after telling me she was going to a friend’s house. The “Away Message” said she was “at the beach”. Guess what? I took Spanish in High School. So I played her game and text messaged her cell phone ~In Spanish ~ that I knew where she was! That floored her & her friends. Again, one step ahead of the curve. And don’t anyone call me out for reading her Away Message.

Back to you have nothing on me. So, I’ve learned to text, instant message, and now HTML, FTP, Pop Server, SSB, Ping, Stumble ~ what-ever. There’s still a lot of learning to do, but don’t worry, I’m a Boomer & one of ours invented the Internet. Gram here is ahead of the curve, and when I finish building my site, they will come.

It’s almost 2:30 am. I know I ‘talk’ via the forums with many of you at this time of night. But I’m taking out my dentures, putting them in a glass, (thanks Suzanne) & turning off the lights now. (JK on the denture part, K?)

If you’re an eBay Seller, or a WAHM who has an online ebiz, you have to check out this terrific site that I came across in my surfing.

Everyone likes FREE ADVERTISING ~and online marketing surf sites, are really cool. There are many out there, and I’m on several ~but I’ve found Shopping With Moms to be among the best.

Once you submit your site to Traffic Exchanges, you can start to surf. The more you surf, the more exposure your site(s) get!

The surf ratio is 2:1. Don’t always have time to surf? You can buy “hits” for a nominal fee. The more you surf, the more exposure you gain through “hits”. Although you never see your own site when you surf. You can add banner, web sites or text adverts. You’ll also be able to get a discount on purchases when you shop through the site. I’ve come across many interesting sites that I’ve bookmarked for future reference. You can also add your ‘blog’ listings on there. Only family friendly, and non-frame breaker sites.

And who said the best things in life aren’t sometimes FREE?
