Why Would Anybody Want to be Me? ~ How to Protect Yourself Against Identity Theft

Follow Me on Pinterest

I sometimes wonder why anyone would want to be me. Sometimes I even wonder if I want to be me. As a Baby Boomer, I now realize I didn’t prepare well enough for retirement. It used to be that raising one kid from birth to adulthood was estimated at approximately $200k.

As a WAHM, I have several businesses and sell on the Internet. One eBiz is my eBay store, where I’m a Power Seller. I also have a boutique online store featuring Upscale Handcrafted Artisan Childrens & Baby Clothing, Accessories, Handbags, Handcrafted Artisan Unique Gifts, Home Decor, Mineral Makeup, Natural Spa Products, Sea Glass Candles, Scents, and more.

With all my businesses, I take precautions against Identity Theft. For example, I maintain a Post Office Box, and cloak my Domain Names . If I got hit with identify theft, it would seriously affect my livelihood.

For the average person, what can you do to protect yourself against identify theft? You can protect your entire family with Lifelock. There are several plans available to protect your family with, who would be covered by their $1 Million Total Service Guarantee.

I think this topic just hit me like a ton of bricks! How do I know if my simple blog has exposed me to a higher chance of becoming a victim?
I understand Lifelock to be insurance of sorts to put your life back together in the event of this kind of crime, but I still need to take precautions, right? Just because I have medical insurance doesn’t mean I still don’t look both ways before crossing the street.
I’m going to have to do some research…do you mind if I carry this topic over and discuss it further over at my site?
